Is a Razor Haircut good for my hair type?

I do my razor cuts on many different hair types, curly hair, wavy hair and straight hair. Fine hair can benefit so much from a razor haircut, I can add bulk and lift to hair that is otherwise limp and difficult to style. Interestingly enough thick hair also benefits from razor cutting, I can control the wright and bulk of your hair with this tool while giving your ends a blunt or soft and tapered look. I will not recommend a razor haircut to someone with extremely dry and over processed hair (I would use shears to address that hair type).

Can you give me a haircut with shears?

Of course I can and am happy to do so. Haircutting is my passion. I use only the highest quality shears made, and have a pair for any situation I come across.

Will a Razor haircut give me too much texture?

During our consultation I ask very specific questions about what you want from your haircut. I will control the amount of “texture” you want. Keep in mind that the razor creates soft tapered ends the degree of taper and softness is entirely up to you.

How light can you make my hair in one service?

This depends on your existing color. Do you have dye on your hair already? Is your hair natural and untreated? How light or dark is your hair to start with? These are just some of the factors that go into the end result of your first service. I will always put the health of your hair before the desired lightness. If the process takes multiple sessions we can determine that during the consultation. I will give you my honest opinion, but please be as accurate as possible when answering my questions. The lightener never lies.

What is Balayage?

The Oxford dictionary defines Balayage as “a technique for highlighting hair in which the dye (lightener) is painted on in such a way as to create a graduated, natural-looking effect.” Some might relate this to sun kissed summer hair.
